The zine Les impassages is the result of a writing workshop centered around the “bedbug streets” of Morges (CH)—those rebellious, misunderstood streets that trace the city’s medieval past, when they were still locked-up sewers.
The title Les impassages is a play on words, combining impasse (which means “dead-end” or “cul-de-sac”) and passage (which means “pathway” or “passage”). These two opposing terms reflect the spirit of the writing workshop: these streets, once closed-off sewers, were considered useless, yet over time, they have become vibrant and essential parts of the city. The pun embodies the transformation of these streets—from abandoned, neglected spaces to lively, thriving ones.
Anouchka Perez’s bedbug managed to make its way onto the cover… A limited edition of the zine exists, fully illustrated with linocut prints.
